Movement Direction & Performance Coaching
Known for my rubber body since childhood, I started my career training in Physical Theatre with a focus on Collaborative and Devised work at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
My strong grounding in physical movement lead me to devise and design movement sequences within projects on which I was principally contracted as performer. I have also often been tasked as Movement Captain in the absence of the Movement Director including, on occasion, teaching a Movement Sequence to large community ensembles.
Turning towards screen work, I decided to trained with the MoCap Vaults, Shapes in Motion and Captivate Action in the field of Motion Capture and Performance Capture. This, in turn, has lead to live action Creature Performance roles on television including Somewhere Boy (Channel 4), The Winter King (ITV/Bad Wolf) and two yet to be released series for the BBC and Bad Wolf.
My wide range of experience enables me to work with individuals and production teams to create both large expressive movement sequences and tightly choreographed comic passages, as well as working 1-2-1 with actors and performers on subtle nuances of physicality, physical storytelling and physical preparation for both Stage and Screen.
Working carefully and closely with my collaborators, I am known for my inventiveness with the ambition to bring the most out of every moment and individual maximising what can be achieved.
When it comes to teacing and coaching, I have prepared actors for auditions and self-tapes and taught workshops on Youth Drama Courses and at Drama Schools (including both the BA and MA Acting courses at Arts Ed). I have also worked with filmmaking students at MetFilm School and Central Film School, helping them to develop their skills in directing actors on screen.
